Google Font is not only getting customizable but also interactive. The company has updated its collection with its extremely first parametric- a new typographic technology which can make it easy for designer tweak and modify the format of virtually and typeface.
Developed by collaboration between Prototypo and Production Type, Spectral follows the basic of responsive design, which means the font remains the capacity to alter its form to seamlessly fit in with overall layout of user’s page.
“Opening up to a new era of type design, parametric font technology allows to work with responsive character improving creativity and exploring new shapes. Creating intelligent fonts capable of fitting all types of uses and media is now reality.” Prototype said in the press.
Among a host of features, Spectral also allows designers to adjust various font aspects such as width, thickness and curviness. The typeface will be available in Google services including Docs, Sheet and Slides. Spectral is currently available for free on Google font.
