Microsoft reveals new Surface Laptop, Windows 10 S for Education goal


Microsoft has launched the new Microsoft Surface Laptop on May 2, 2017 in New York City. Surface Laptop is the most ambitious device with a sleek and lightweight body. The new laptop, which starts at $999 and comes in four colors: Cobalt Blue, Burgundy, Graphite Gold and Platinum. Better than other brand laptop, Microsoft Surface has a longer battery life at 14.5 hours. The keyboard will continue to be that soft alcantara fabric used on the Surface pro4 the display will be a 13.5 pixelsense, 3:2 aspect ratio. There will be a single USB port, mini Display Port and no USC-C port. The processor will be Intel Core i5 or optional core i7 running on up to 16 GB RAM with up to 512GB of SSD storage. The device is aimed at helping Microsoft catch up in the budget-conscious education market. The new is also equipped with Windows 10 S, a new variant of Microsoft’s flagship operating system. The Microsoft Surface Laptop will be available on June 15.

Microsoft also introduce updates to the education version of its office 365 productivity app that will run in Windows 10 S and will be available free for student, faculty and school staff. Students and schools also will receive a free one-year subscription to an education version of Microsoft’s popular Minecraft game to teaching coding.
