iPhone 8 will have “Functional Area” to replace the Home button

iPhone 8 will remove the home button and replace it with “functional areas” with virtual buttons below the screen – according to sources of the famous analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.


It seems to Apple wants to put their most outstanding features in the upcoming product, iPhone 8. According to KGI Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple plans to integrate a new Function Area which will replace the Touch ID home button.

iPhone 8 will display with 5.8 inch OLED (2.800 x 1.242 pixel),however, the actually area will be close to 5.15 inch. The rest of area at the end of this phone will be reserved  for the virtual buttons. Kuo believes that this phone will have the other biometrics that will replace the current fingerprint sensor. However, analyst also do not know what exactly the biometric technology is.

The analyst also says although iPhone 8 have a bigger screen, this 5.8 inch seems to have the same physical size with the current iPhone 4.7 inch. It is believe that iPhone 8 will have the strong battery, comparable with iPhone 7 Plus. There are also rumors that Apple will release 3 new iPhone in 2017.

Besides releasing iPhone 8, Apple is going to launch iPhone 7S and 7S Plus. Meanwhile, a patent that Apple has been granted show that this brand wants to integrate the Touch ID fingerprint sensor just under the screen instead of the under the physical home button since it appeared.
