iPhone 8 says no to the curved screen

Apple will use the OLED screen but not the curved panels to the edges but only the glass above the 2.5D.

According to Forbes, one of the most anticipated changes on the iPhone 8 – the curved screen, will not become a reality. The source confirmed that Apple had canceled plans to introduce a special curved version of the iPhone 8. Wayne Lam – IHS Markit analyst also predicted that Apple would continue to use the flat-screen platform on a special iPhone and have added Glass curves 2.5D as present.

Apple’s rival is Samsung, which is quite successful with curved screens. Versions such as the Galaxy S6 edge and the S7 edge attracted more attention and sales than the regular version. Korean electronics company have started making curved screen phones that spill over into lace from 2015.

Wayne Lam Analysts said that the new trend of smartphones is a long, overwhelming screen, like the upcoming LG G6 or Galaxy S8. Apple may choose to follow this trend with the special edition of iPhone 8.

The curved screen actually has the disadvantages of holding the uncertainty in the normal, easy to touch the screen. In addition, to produce curved iPhone screens, Apple will also take a long time to redesign the iOS operating system.

iPhone 8 may account for nearly 30% of total iPhone sales in 2017. Apple will launch three models instead of just two. In addition to the two models upgraded to the iPhone 7s and 7s Plus, Apple also added the iPhone 8 with significant changes.
