Introduced for the first time as a concept version in November 2016 at the Los Angeles International Motor Show 2016, the 2017 Honda Civic Si will be officially introduced to the world under two versions of the Sedan and Coupe.
In terms of performance, Honda has retained the basic information on the Civic Si Prototype version introduced in 2016. Under the bonnet is a 4-cylinder 1.5 liter turbocharged engine with twin variable valve and direct fuel injection, combined with a 6-speed manual transmission.
There is no specific information on the capacity of the Civic Si because Civic Si was born with the mission to become a high-performance version of the Civic version. Honda also announced earlier that it will upgrade the performance of the Civic Si, including new dampening active systems, active steering, high-performance slip differential and performance tires.
“With the new Honda Civic Si, we even made the tenth generation Civic even sportier. This will be the fastest, best-of-breed version ever delivered to customers”, Jeff Conrad – Honda’s vice president and general manager said.
In the concept version introduced at the LA Show, the car appeared with the HFP bodykit, rear wing, hexagonal exhaust and 19-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 235/35 performance tires.
These details are expected to remain on the production version, or just a few minor changes.
Similarly, the interior of the Civic Si will be equipped with a “Dry Metal Carbon” dashboard …
Sporty front seats with prominent red Si logo, aluminum pedal and a red TFT LCD entertainment display cluster, accompanied by an illuminated audio system.
