The new connectivity technology allows the Galaxy S8 to maintain a maximum distance of 240 meters and better bandwidth.
Not mentioned by Samsung in the launch ceremony but the Galaxy S8 also has a very valuable equipment is Bluetooth 5.0. This is the first smartphone equipped with this latest connectivity standard. Bluetooth 5.0 is the replacement for version 4.2 launched in December 2014.
Bluetooth technology is upgraded in terms of speed, range of operation and high quality audio support. Bluetooth 5.0 is twice as fast and the connection range is four times wider than Bluetooth 4.2. This means that the Galaxy S8 can stay connected to support devices at up to 240 meters.
Better Bluetooth 5.0 bandwidth also allows the Galaxy S8 to deliver sound to two sets of wireless headphones at the same time. This feature promises couples the ability to listen to a live song together.
The Galaxy S8 retains a 3.5 mm port for standard headphones. Smartphones such as the iPhone 7/7 Plus or HTC U Ultra have dropped this connection, but the support handsets are still very little.
