The new electric car – EQA concept of the Mercedes-Benz brand brings a whole new concept to the “Purity Sensual” design language.
Currently, electric cars are one of the most competitive segments. Mercedes-Benz is also one of the prominent brands and is intent on boosting market share in this segment by launching new models.
Last year, Mercedes-Benz also launched the EQ Concept at the Paris Motor Show 2016, and today, it continues to introduce the concept car EQA Concept at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2017 is taking place in Germany.
The competition that the EQA targets is the BMW i3 and the Volkswagen electric cars. However, Mercedes-Benz does not intend to put EQA Concept into commercial production.
In terms of design, the EQA concept is reminiscent of Volkswagen’s Scirocco, but has a more “gentle” look, leaving sharp edges around the outside of the car. The EQA concept carries a true future look with outstanding lighting. Unique headlamp with daytime running lights in blue above. The dome system surrounds the radiator grille and the logo stays centered.
In terms of performance, Mercedes-Benz boasts a new electric vehicle that will travel up to 400km per charge, thanks to two electric motors with a total capacity of 280 horsepower. In addition, the car will use a completely new EVA (Electric Vehicle Architecture) platform, allowing Mercedes to produce smaller models and SUVs thanks to the space-saving capability of electric cars.
