Apple unveiled Business Chat, which brought customer service and shopping into iMessage

Apple has unveiled Business Chat, its aim to turn iMessage into a communication platform that can compete with Facebook Messenger.

Business will be part of iOS 11, allowing individuals to open an iMessage window from Safari, Maps, Spotlight or Siri and start a conversation with a business. These conversations will include basic text chats, Apple is also offering support and structure for more complicated interactions.

Business Chat might be the most promising chance for iMessage’s App store. Business can include some of their app capabilities within a chat. For instant, Apple shows off a conversation where consumer could actually choose their airline seat without having to open a separated app.

Business Chat will be integrated with other customer service products which are LivePerson, Salesforce, Nuance and Genesys are the first partners. CEO of LivePerson – Robert LoCascio says they can manage Business Chat conversations alongside other customer services right inside the LivePerson product, opening the possibility of removing voice interactions when it comes to customer services and sales in the future.

The most important thing in Business Chat is that it is fully encrypted to ensure the security of business operations of businesses. By integrating Apple Pay, customers can browse and buy products from within the Business Chat. Apple now allows developers and businesses to test and integrate Business Chat into their services.
