MINI has unveiled a host of 2017 updated car for its entire range, which includes a pair of entry-level models for the new Countryman crossover, along with number of equipment revisions.
The One and One D Countryman both use a 1.5 liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine in petrol and diesel forms respectively, with the former producing 102hp and 180 Nm of torque. It also takes 11.8 seconds to get from 0 to 100 km/h with the six –speed manual gearbox or 12.8 seconds with the six-speed auto.
The One D is equipped with 116hp and 270Nm, which means it is quite a bit quicker , completing the same sprint in 10.9 seconds before making out a whole 10km/h faster at 190km/h. Fuel consumption is about 5.8 and 5.5 liters per 100km for the One and about 4.3 and 4.1 per 100 km for the One D.
Beyond from the new engines, the car also receives wireless Apple CarPlay connectivity in conjunction with the wired package. The old fuel is replaced by a new with more precise display. Moreover, the MINI driving mode-normal, sport and green- are no longer selected though a rotary ring around the gearlever, it is now performed by the right most toggle switch under the climate controls.
Other changes include a new alertness assistant on the MINI 3 door, 5 door and convertible, part of the MINI Visual Boost radio and navigation system.
Finally, the MINI convertible receives the optional Always Open Package that throws in Comfort Access keyless entry, heated front seat, a wind deflector and an Always Open Timer.
